Historic Site · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
The Clark Chateau was constructed in 1898-1899 for Charles and Katherine Clark, oldest son of Copper King W. A. Clark. The house served as a private residence to such notable Butte families as the Largeys and the Murrays, as well as the Butte College of Music, the Fez Club, and the home of the Butte Arts Foundation. Today it is home to the Butte Symphony, Montana's oldest symphony orchestra, and The Root & The Bloom Collective, a nonprofit humanities organization.

The Clark Chateau's summer season will begin on Friday May 5th, 5:00pm to 9:00pm for Uptown Art Walk. After that, we are open Thursday through Sunday, 12:00pm-4:00pm through the end of October.

We offer one guided tour per day starting at 1:00pm, led by the knowledgeable and multitalented Frankee Angel, playing a variety of costumed characters, changing day-to-day. Walk-ins are welcome, but you may also call ahead (406-565-5600) to reserve a spot on the tour.
