  • This is a great place to visit with family and friends! There are plenty of informational signs that give insight on the petrification process and the history of the forest. The trail isn’t very steep and is a pretty easy walk with plenty of shaded sitting areas along the way. It’s pretty short as well—prepare to spend around an hour if visiting. The gift shop has a lot of variety and has pieces of the forest itself for you to buy. The people working at the gift shop are absolutely wonderful and are always happy to answer questions.
  • Well organized place with exhibits of petrified tree trunks clearly identified. How petrification happened has been beautifully explained in a few locations. The trail itself is fantastic to walk around. One downside is we couldn't take our baby stroller along because of rough pathway.
