Harriet Tubman Museum and Educational Center, Cambridge

Drove through the area last night and wanted to see the mural. I truly wish it had been more prominently displayed at the street instead of hidden in the alley but it makes sense why it is there - I am not complaining. It was very cold and windy last night. I had parked on the opposite side of Race and when I returned to my car I saw a cat cross the street exactly at the crosswalk! I was impressed. I hope to return soon during business hours so I can learn more and get the museum experience. Later I found another related mural at another spot in the city. I truly enjoy finding unexpected murals when I’m traveling. I am interested to see what others this town has to offer too! The artwork is beautifully done and the Harriet Tubman mural is a very powerful piece. Truly a treasure!

Definitely worth the trip if you’re in the area or on your way to Ocean City. There is no fee for admission but donations are encouraged. This modest museum has several displays and was showing Harriet Tubman videos to small groups of people while I was there. They have a portrait wall with seldom seen pics of Tubman. The museum also sells merchandise, including art prints and shirts of the famous mural of Harriet Tubman which is out back. Staff is very friendly.
