With wide-open views of Penobscot Bay and surrounding small islands, Camden Hills State Park offers 50 km (30 mi) of hiking trails and 112 camping spots. You can take up horseback riding or mountain biking, or try cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing during the cold months. The varied topography, ranging from dark dense forests to cliff overlooks and rocky shorelines to rolling misty hills, make it a good spot for photography. Within the park, there are also two small mountains to climb--the 240 m (800 ft) high Mount Battie and the 422 m (1,385 ft) high Mount Megunticook. Camden Hills State Park Reviews
Absolutely worth a stop to take in the views, especially during leaf-peeping season in early October. The vibrant colors, the roar of the ocean, and the mist crawling over the landscape is just breath... more »

Great views of surrounding Camden Lincolnville, islands. Should be the first and last thing a visitor should do when exploring this area, gives you a lay of the land. Always a beautiful stop! Drive right up too, great for the older generation!
I had different expectations from this place. The view from the top is amazing! You can see far away, plus I travel during fall so all the colored trees make the view a lot better. One of the things that I didn't thought about was the wind. Particularly the day that I went to see the park it was extremely windy, so it was really cold, and this park is mostly for walking (which I was not expecting) So the only thing that I was able to do was going to the top and then leave, because the other areas are only accessible hiking. So, if you have plans on visiting this park during the cold months, plan ahead and bring warm clothes for the hike. One thing I personally recommend, is visiting during fall or probably summer. Fall the colors are amazing, every tree has different colors so the view can’t be compare to anything. Photo @karlagmphotography
