The shoreline at Cannon Beach is one of Oregon’s most treasured landmarks, distinguished by its pristine sandy beaches and the monolithic Haystack Rock. This picturesque beach is abundant with wildlife and is perfect for exploring tide pools and spotting birds, including tufted puffins and cormorants. Avoid the summer crowds at Ecola Creek by opting for the stretches towards Silver Point instead. The town itself is full of independent shops, art galleries, and theaters, thanks to strict regulations limiting large chain stores and restaurants. Summers can be a little busy but during the other times of the year it's a little town with things to do, yet the focus is still on the outdoor experience. Long, long beach, nearby parks and trails...

We visited for sunset and it is my friend’s first time to see Pacific. The ocean was so beautiful and the sunset colored the sky. Totally worth it although It was a bit chill in Dec and the road condition between Portland and here was icy.

This is our first point of our Road trip on 101 till SF and this beach was our introduction to Pacific ! The beach is as majestic as the Pacific ocean. Great place to take long strolls. The Haystack rock is the highlight of the beach. The water on the Pacific North West are cold even during Summers and so we cannot wade in the water barefoot for more than a couple of minutes. Would like to come back here to catch the Sunset. Parking was a bit tricky here although it was not too crowded.
