Royal Gorge Bridge and Park boasts the highest bridge in the United States, spanning the gorge at 291 m (955 ft) above the Arkansas River. You'll appreciate the view by crossing the bridge on foot to peer down into the canyon below. In the park, you'll find a sky coaster that carries you over the gorge at high speeds. A gondola ride down the river adds a little romance to the great outdoors, while ziplines and mini trains allow you to give your feet a rest. Start at the visitor center to purchase tickets and pick up a map of the area. Network service here is poor but the staff were really helpful in lending me a phone to call a cab. It was cold and windy, trembled a bit on the bridge but made it to the end and watched the video...

What an amazing view! I really enjoyed the day. Consequently, there was a storm coming in, so we were not able to ride the gondola across the canyon. The Park Ranger Michael was so kind. He gave us a really nice history of the park, and let us know if we came back the next day our tickets would still be valid. The Raphtor Show was really educational. The landscaping is pretty. It was worth the drive! Go check it out!

Last time I visited here was about 15 years ago, so it's been awhile! But it was as awesome as I remember it being from back then! Although they were still allowing cars to drive over it back then, I definitely like it more now that it's mostly pedestrian traffic. I highly recommend reading the history of the bridge on the walls to the left hallway once you get past the ticket area. General admission tickets include the red gondola ride, so go get on that! And if you're brave enough, go do the zip line! Love this tourist spot and it's always really cool to see engineering masterpieces like this!
