Mesa Arch (also known as Rotary Arch and Trail Arch) is a pothole arch on the eastern edge of the Island in the Sky mesa in Canyonlands National Park in northern San Juan County, Utah, United States. Mesa Arch is a spectacular natural stone arch perched at the edge of a cliff with vast views of canyons, Monster Tower, Washer Woman Arch, Airport Tower, and the La Sal Mountains in the distance. Access is via a relatively easy hiking trail, just a half-mile long from the park road.

  • Though the trail seemed short and simple enough, my wife slipped and fell on her butt (she was okay) as we got closer to the arch. The gravel and sand in that area can be slippery so use good hiking....  more »
  • We went at noon on a Tuesday. It was very hot. We thought it was .5 mile round trip, but it was probably .5 mile each way. There is no shade, so make sure you bring water. It was not busy when we....  more »
  • Beautiful arch with sheer cliff on the other side of it. Hang on to the young ones but be prepared to enjoy the view. Not to difficult of a hike to get to the arch. Totally worth it. Beautiful colors and various plants along the Terrain including one little marked ash tree along the way. Enjoy!
  • Worth the hike. Beautiful scenery, make sure you do it early in the morning. 2.7 round trip hike. Bring water sunglasses. Lon g sleeve. Etc.sun block.
