Stimulate your senses of smell and sight by taking in the colorful and fragrant display of the expansive The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. Hop aboard an antique tractor wagon ride through the 20 hectares (50 acres) of flower fields overlooking the Pacific Ocean and listen to audio commentary on the history of the fields. Afterward, tour the artist gardens to see how flowers can be used as art. The site also includes a 140 sq m (1,500 square ft) greenhouse filled with poinsettia flowers, a cymbidium orchid greenhouse, and rose gardens. Younger children can navigate the sweet-pea maze, explore Santa's playground, or mine for polished gemstones. If you're interested in sustainable agricultural practices, check out the waterwise farming showcase on water awareness and the organic demonstration garden on edible and ornamental plants. I visited this place 2 weeks ago with family and friends. The place is really great for flower lovers. They have a wagon ride, few food stalls along with a garden area where they sell items...

What an extraordinary place. Absolutely delightful eat to spend a day outdoors. Lovely space with a gorgeous field of colorful flowers and other beautiful spaces, great for pictures and having a good time. The restrooms are clean and the staff is very nice and friendly. They have a shop where you can buy plants, seeds, pots and everything garden related. Inside there's a pizza trolley, lemonade stand and some other snacks.

I have lived in San Diego for 20 years and this is my first visit to the flower fields. The fields are so colorful. And definitely picture-worthy. They have little alcoves where you can take pictures, but there were so many people, the wait was long on some. They have beautiful displays after you enter that I would like to spend more time browsing. Definitely going back next year, but I think I will try it on a weekday. May be less crowded.
