Paddle NC was founded in 2013 after the owner, Walt, spent 10 years building his company Hidden Reef Eco Tours on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. When he returned to North Carolina he envisioned a kayak touring and rental company that allowed people the opportunity to see the beautiful waters of the coast the way we love to see them; from the water. In 2013 he opened our locations at Carolina Beach State Park, near Wilmington, and Hammocks Beach State Park, near Swansboro, offering kayak tours and rentals as well as stand up paddleboard (SUP) tours and rentals. In 2014 a third location opened on North Topsail Island offering those same services in the Topsail Island Sound. 2016 opened another chapter for Paddle NC as the Jacksonville location opened, offering services on New River. Now in 2017, we are excited to open a location in Fort Fisher State Recreation Area, near Kure Beach, providing surf board rentals and instruction, beach chair and umbrella rentals, SUP rentals, body board rentals, bike rentals, and beach game rentals.Plan my trip to Carolina Beach with suggested itineraries provided by Inspirock.

Paddle NC reviews
Really nice guy, great equipment and a beautiful paddle experience. Totally worthwhile, great day on water more »

Had great visit, training and excursion! Can't wait for next visit. The water got choppy and I quickly became nervous but crew was great about putting you at ease and setting you off. Would visit and tour again.
Great kayaking experience. Mike didn't just give us a kayak and say "good luck". He taught us basic kayaking form and gave us tips to account for the tide and wind on our trip. He's clearly an experienced kayaker. It was a beautiful route and very relaxing! There were lots of brown pelicans diving for fish and lots of fish jumping.
