Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve, Carpinteria

A nice, peaceful place to spend some time walking the trails amongst the wildflowers and wildlife. Beware the steep cliff here. There isn't an easy way down to the beach, that I could find. Parking is free and plentiful during the work week. Weekends may be a different story. Great views of the coastline, mountains and the Channel Islands.

Beautiful spot to take a short walk, a long walk or just to admire the beauty. We stopped for a quick visit while heading to Pismo Beach in March. Many of the plants were in bloom. Ate a quick picnic that we packed and then walked along the paths for a bit with our dog (on leash only). There are public restrooms not far from the small parking lot on the other side of the baseball field. Super easy to access the area from the freeway and a lovely spot to stretch your legs for a short while or to take your time and explore.
