Dedicated to the memories of the “Amphibious Soldiers” of WWII, Franklin County is proud to be the location of North Florida’s premier WWII museum.

Our new facilities, located at 1873 Hwy 98 West, across from Carrabelle Beach Public Park, houses 4,000 square feet of artifacts, photos, memorabilia and memories of the soldiers, sailors and other military as well as civilian personnel who trained and worked here during the WWII years. Three Infantry division and two Special Brigades left here after training to confront tyranny both in Europe and the Pacific. Learn about their dedication, fears and heroism at our museum.

The Camp Gordon Johnston Association also participates in parades and educational historic events and welcomes field trips from schools, clubs and other organizations.

  • We were very impressed with this very well done museum. The holocaust exhibit was very well done. We drove 4 hours just to see this exhibit and it was worth it.  more »

  • I love this private 900 square feet museum. Its very personal but special. Perfectly located across from Carrabelle beach Patrons, volunteers will share with you the history of Sgt. Camp Gordon Johnston museum Come visit on Tuesday through Saturday 11 to 5pm
  • A beautiful and humbling experience. Superbly well done. Gorgeous displays and artifacts from WWII, two great videos depicting the camp and training undergone by soldiers to ready them for Europe invasions. Very well done and all free. Donation box at the door so please donate generously.
