  • If you are a railfan, or even just someone who enjoys interesting places, this place is wonderful. The location is just beautiful, the landscape is quite incredible. The story of Cass and the surrounding area are well represented at this park. The interpreters are very good at conveying the extraordinary importance of this location, and telling the history of the people who made it home. But the highlight is certainly the train(s). These are special trains made specifically for this location and to watch these beauties run is exceptional. We took the longer of the trips, the Bald Knob trip. It lasted a bit over 4 hours and was worth the price of admission. The sights and sounds of the trip, even in a rain storm was awesome. And the view from the top of the mountain was amazing. This is a "can't miss" type of train ride. Do your homework beforehand, and I strongly recommend ear protection if you're sitting in the care nearest the engine.
  • A true gem. My grandmother grew up in Case, so I've been here many times over the past 40 years. Great historic town with awesome steam locomotive train trips. This place is kid friendly. Lots of great fishing, hiking and biking nearby. If you're visiting WV, this needs to be on your top-ten list. It's on my top-five or top-three list.
