  • In the winter during COVID this a a short visit. The view of the mountains is lovely. The buildings are interesting but you cannot go inside. Compared to Olana, it is small and less scenic because...  more »
  • Just toured the grounds due to the virus. Check out the very old tree. Great view overlooking the Catskills from the porch of the house. New trail to get to Olana for the full Hudson River painting....  more »
  • We had an excellent visit. The last tour of the day started at 1pm, which seemed early for a site that closed at 5pm. But there were docents in all the buildings to answer our questions. The buildings are very well restored and there is extensive display of Cole's art and writings. If you have some extra hours to spare, the three mile walk to Olana is worthwhile, but it is quite a climb to the house.
  • This place was great. The old studio, new studio and house were great. Everyone on the property was friendly and very knowledgeable. It was a great stop on our way from Albany to JFK airport.
