Create an itinerary including Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts
The Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts is the only museum devoted to the creation, education and preservation of time-honored fiber arts in Wisconsin. In 2011, we restored our 1850's barn for use as an exhibition gallery, classrooms, collections storage and general purpose. Our property includes a farmhouse, summer kitchen, blacksmithery, lambing shed and chicken coop dating from their late 1800's use as a working German farm.

WMQFA is temporarily closed through March 31st due to COVID-19. We plan to reopen April 1st dependent upon county and board approval.
A visit to Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Cedarburg trip site to plot your vacation.

  • The museum is easily accessible. The exhibit space is large, well lit and airy. The fabulous exhibits change every two months, and lectures and classes occur periodically. Check out their website...

  • This is a very clean and well maintained museum with friendly volunteers. They showcase fiber art which may be in the form of a quilt. They display both modern and traditional in about a 50/50 mix. You can stop in just to visit the gift shop for free which is fantastic and full of handmade and unique treasures like jewelry, purses, scarves, wall art, cards, etc. They also offer classes of different kinds. Admission to the current exhibit is $8 which are some of the winning designs from international artists in a contest that takes place in Japan.
  • Such a lovely collection of quilts. I spent about 30 minutes inside admiring the Quilt Nihon exhibit. I am excited to come back and visit the three other exhibits coming up this year.
