Elevation is a challenge, but I did it and I am 73 yrs old. This is a beautiful area, even if you do not complete the hike, it is all good.

Outstanding views in all directions from the top, but also along the way. We climbed on July 8 out and back from Lewis Lake trailhead in 3h40m (including 20 minutes at top). Some snow and water crossings in first quarter mile. Opted to scramble up rocks rather than cross a snow field covering the marked, narrow trail a quarter mile from peak, then crossed a safer, less steep field about 200 yards from summit. Saw all ages making this climb.

Beatiful peak that is a challenge even for experienced hikers. Once you are up on the ridge it almost feels like you are on the moon with all the rocks and scrambling. Once at the peak awesome views of the entire mountain and lakes below.
