Keepsake Quilting, Center Harbor

4.1
Keepsake Quilting™ was founded as a quilting-supply mail-order catalog in 1986. Two years later, responding to customer demand, a retail quilt shop was opened in Center Harbor, New Hampshire. The shop has become a tourist destination for quilters from around the world; and the catalog, the ultimate resource for quilting fabrics and supplies.

  • This store is famous and visited by bus loads of sewers and quilters. The fabric selection is large. My issues with this store is that don’t offer any classes and the people who work there are nice , ...  more »

  • While quality of products is good the fulfillment of orders is deplorable. Having once called NH home I want to do as much business with New England businesses as possible so I really want a good working relationship with Keepsake but it just ain't happening. After placing an order 3 weeks ago I am still waiting for 3/4 of the order. A portion arrived after 2 weeks and the shipping number for it was all I had. Another item was "shipped separately" but no order number. Other items were out of stock but not so indicated when I placed the order and no estimated date of fulfillment. Might I add that I placed an order with a Vermont company on the same day, also standard shipping, and had it in hand four days later. Additionally, as another reviewer noted, I contacted Keepsake , was assigned a case number and have never again been contacted.
  • Have to give only 3 stars. The store was a long trip for me, and I shop at other quilt stores locally but wanted to finally see this store. LOTS of material to choose from and I did find the fabric I was hoping for - it's big enough to have a really generous selection. Nice people there, not many of them, though. Not pushy, either, just let me browse away the afternoon which was very nice. However, I can DEFINITELY not say the same for the catalog service. I mean, non-service. I've been in customer service for many years, in person and on the phone. This company's over-the -phone service is rude and unconcerned, to say the least. I've been on hold and disconnected several times. When I finally have reached a person, just rude, noncommittal, and or (after more time on hold while they 'confer' with someone else!) dismissive. Or I get disconnected. No response, no credit received for a return. No communication when items I ordered never showed or partially showed. No response to emails, truly maddening. So, I will never, ever order from the catalog again. But I'll probably go back to the store if I'm in the area, at least there I can see it, touch it, pick it up and pay for it. No shipping charges, and no interminable and infuriating and exasperating phone calls
