  • A nice buffet in a pleasant setting. It's a bit unsettling to see beer and wine at a state park. The selection of both is fair. Things change. Besides food and drink there is not much to do, well, golf but that barely moves the "Not much to do needle off it's peg. There is a cop in Chapel Hill who has a radar gun. Watch for him. The park motel, the dining hall and the whole of the pace in general is clean and quiet. Great place to catch up on your reading.
  • We had (Kind of) a family reunion at Henry Horton state Park. The facilities were clean and kept in great condition. There is nature all around with birds everywhere. The grounds were mowed and easy to access. LOVE the walking trails. And the Henry Horton steakhouse (I guess that's what we would call it) had a delicious buffet and their prime rib was ON POINT. Even their Gumbo was excellent - and being a girl from the south, I was very impressed that the Okra was not slimy. Well done! Definitely a place to visit - nice and quaint.
