  • This is a very scenic spot. We sat on one of the swings and enjoyed the nice breeze off the water. It was a pleasant escape from the Charleston Heat!!!  more »

  • Beautiful park between the river and a section of fantastic historic homes! Wonderful places to sit and relax and two very nice fountains. There is also a nice open area where you could picnic, throw a frisbee, etc. The lawn and foliage are perfectly maintained and there is no trash anywhere. Kids really enjoy playing in the larger fountain especially on warm summer days. Great place for a leisurely stroll!
  • This is a great place to rest from walking all over town. Beautiful trees with Spanish moss and squirrels leaping from branch to branch provide wonderful shade. A cool breeze coming off the water is refreshing and revitalizing. It may not be part of the historic district, but the houses and buildings surrounding the park reflect Charleston's historic charm and ambiance. There are views of the ships in the harbor and lots of wildlife. A quick stop here energized my wife and I to continue our tour walking tour of Charleston.
  • Great place for some family time! The kids love playing in the fountains, feeding the seagulls, and running through the park with other children. For the adults the bench swings are a relaxing and romantic respite after walking around downtown Charleston. The view can't be beat with a variety of ships and sailboats always in sight. The patient and the lucky are often rewarded with aquatic wildlife sightings that include bottlenose dolphins and harbour seals. The Joe Reilly Waterfront Park is definitely a must see when planning a visit to the Holy City of the South.
  • The lush landscape is absolutely gorgeous with tons of green space, huge trees shading the walk ways, and sitting areas there. It was such a wonderful site to see the children running and playing in the splash water falls and fountain. Watching the cruise ship take off from the waters edge was also cool. Dogs were also allowed to be on the greens. Joyful area.
  • A must go when in Charleston! The ocean walk is scenic with plenty of shaded areas, benches, and swings under the pavilions. The pineapple fountain is a must-see and great for picture taking. Street musicians often play beneath the pavilions. Gets a little chilly and breezy on the water in late winter/early spring. Free shuttle service to and from the waterfront park and other attractions along the route.
