The Schooner Pride, Charleston

#5 of 38 in Wildlife in Charleston
Dolphin / Whale Watching · Sightseeing Tour
The Pride is an 84 foot Tall Ship sailing in Charleston’s historic harbor. Each sail is its own adventure. The Pride is a three-mast ship modeled after the old trading schooners that sailed up and down the coast during the great days of sail. She is comfortable with ample deck space and seating for up to 49. With the engine off and sails full, she quietly glides along as guests enjoy the natural sounds of dolphins, gulls, wind and water, an experience that is both relaxing and romantic.

Our Daytime sails and Sunset cruises are a favorite of tourists and locals alike. The Pride sails with the wind and tides, so there is no set course and every cruise is unique! Because we remain in the harbor, you can see all the sites of the area, but depending on the day, we get closer to some than others. The PRIDE is USCG certified for up to 49 passengers and is docked at the Aquarium Wharf.

  • The crew was responsive, professional and wonderful. This is no knock on the staff and I am certainly not overzealous about Covid, but I was surprised not one other person but my friend and I wore a mask while on board the boat. I do realize we are outside and the wind is strong, but we were all quite close. One comment for the staff is could you please update the music to something at least within the last two decades? I realize you have to appeal to a broad demographic and it might skew older, but let's please put away the Jim Croce and CSNY or I fear someone might hang themselves with one of those ropes...
  • The sunset cruise was great! My wife and I enjoyed the crew and atmosphere of the schooner as we sailed by Charleston and watched the sunset. Highly recommend!
