Hunter Museum of American Art showcases a range of art from the Colonial period to the present day. The buildings that make up the museum provide a good introduction to the diverse works inside--you'll find an early 20th century mansion, a modern building from the 1970s, and a sleek structure of steel-and-glass construction. Inside, you can discover paintings, sculptures, photos, mixed media, and decorative artwork from an assortment of artistic movements such as the Hudson River School, American Impressionism, early modernism, and regionalism. Watch for works from famed artists such as Andy Warhol, Thomas Cole, Childe Hassam, and Louise Nevelson. Inspirock's itinerary builder makes planning a Chattanooga trip simple and quick.

Wife and I spent the day there. Thought it was the perfect place to visit since it was raining. The architecture was very cool. There were so many different rooms full of art. It wasn’t very expensive. Totally worth it. So many talented artists in this museum. We were enamored by this video that was playing in one of the rooms. As videographers we love seeing other peoples art.

The workers here were absolutely some of the kindest people we've come across on our trip. The art is beautiful and well spread out. We loved the Fantasy exhibit. Your ticket lasts all day which is really nice. We needed to leave and feed our son so it was helpful.
