Riamede Farm, Chester

#3 of 9 in Things to do in Chester
Our orchard is 35 acres with half of this acreage still nurturing big old seedling apple trees planted a half century ago. The old trees are genuine antiques and provide our farm with a 19th century feeling. The old trees still produce and give us apples as they used to be, red on the side that sees the sun.

We also have a newer orchard of semi-dwarf and dwarf apple trees with all of everyone's favorite modern apple varieties.

Apples are well within the reach of children.

Riamede also has a large pumpkin field behind the orchard. The haywagon will drop you at the pumpkin field gate, and early in pumpkin season, it's "cut your own" pumpkins off the vine!

New to our farm in 2009 is pick-your-own cherry tomatoes in September and pick-your-own Indian Corn in October. To visit Riamede Farm on your trip to Chester, use our Chester trip planner.

  • Fun to pick your own apples and pumpkins. Yummy donuts. I just don’t like having to pay admission fee on top of what I’m going to spend on treats, plus apples and pumpkins, the weight adds up fast...  more »
  • Not much to say here but that everyone in this area knows where to go to pick apples with there family. This is the place to go. It's really easy to find but most people pass it by as they turn...  more »
  • Riamede Farm is the quintessential, traditional, back - to - nature apple orchard. It is over 40 acres of pristine farmland and is absolutely gorgeous!!! It also has pumpkins, corn, tomatoes, and sunflowers. There are hay wagon rides, a country store, and the best apple cider doughnuts on the face of the earth! My husband and I have enjoyed bringing our grandchildren here and I have brought my kindergarten students each year for many years. This is my all-time favorite farm and I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed!!
  • A fantastic place for apples and pumpkins!!! A great family atmosphere with lots of food!! Not much to do other than pick and eat though. There is a hayride to and from the pumpkin patch. They also have tomatoes, sunflowers, and Indian corn. We have been going there for the last few years and love it!
