Commemorating more than 400 years of history, Henricus Historical Park re-creates everyday 17th-century life in the second successful English settlement in North America and in the Virginia Indian site of Arrohateck. Due to its prime location as a military outpost on a bluff overlooking the James River, the site also boasts rich Revolutionary War and Civil War history, which visitors may experience through special events and programs throughout the year.A visit to Henricus Historical Park represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Chester driving holiday planner to plot your vacation.
Surrounded by the 810 acre Dutch Gap Conservation Area, the living history museum offers exceptional Pre-K-12 and adult education programs, and both indoor and outdoor meeting and special event space. Henricus Historical Park is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization that operates in partnership with the Henricus Foundation and the counties of Chesterfield and Henrico.

I love going here! The people who work here are so knowledgeable and fun to talk to, not to mention they are the ones who build the historical buildings you see. Although it's cheap to get into if you don't have the money you can easily walk behind the historical site to a place you can grill, have a picnic, or play Pokemon Go as the site surrounding the park has 3 gyms and multiple pokéstops making this place fun for the whole family.

A little small compared to Jamestown, but definitely a gem! They have great reenactors, a nice gift shop, and a park nearby for later. Bring a packed lunch and spend the day!
