Excellent displays on Chicago history on both floors. You can park here all day for $10 and enjoy the park after the museum. Not crowded and staff was very friendly. more »

The Chicago History Museum has reopened. My wife and I are long-time members who live only a block away and we really missed our frequent visits. It doesn't matter whether there is a special exhibit..... more »

A small, but well executed museum, filled with spectacular presentations. Find Chicago's first settlement, the hay days of the 20's, the Chicago Fire, politics, musicians, jazz, blues, mobsters, Abraham Lincoln's bed, manufacturers, and inventors. A great Cafe and museum store. A real coal engine train and trolley car to use your imagination with, and 1 to 2 special exhibits. Adjacent to the beautiful Lincoln Park.

This is an excellent outing with the kids if you are looking for something for all ages. Kids were 14, 20, 9, 4 and 1. We thoroughly enjoyed the blues exhibit; it was very interactive. The fashion exhibit was fun for all of us, providing a glimpse through time as various styles transitioned from the big screen to the streets of Chicago. The children's area was fun for the little kids. Not to mention 18 and under are free! Teachers are also free! I'd strongly recommend it. Staff was very helpful with recommendations as well.
