Skydeck Chicago - Willis Tower, Chicago

4.2
Take a look at Chicago from the top of Skydeck Chicago - Willis Tower, the second tallest building in the country. Still called "Sears Tower" by most locals, the 108-story building looms over the city with a height of 442 m (1,451 ft). One of the world's tallest freestanding structures, the skyscraper features an observation deck on the 103rd floor. The popular skydeck is 412 m (1,353 ft) high, offering unobstructed views of Chicago and its sprawling suburbs. On clear days, the vista stretches far over the Illinois plains and across Lake Michigan, all the way to Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan. For a dizzying look from a glass-floored ledge jutting out into the air, get in line for the high-speed elevator to the top. • In the evening on weekdays. The Observatory came right away, until the line in 30 minutes for the photo booth. Time frame to hold the schedule for good measure.

  • Awesome way to kick off a family trip to Chicago! The Skydeck 360 was perfect for our family, even with 5 young kids. We had the city pass and had direct access to the elevators and got right to the top (from the time we walked in the building it was under 10 minutes to the Skydeck! - yes!!) Also, we ended up being able to take in the most amazing sunset views, and if you can plan around this time of day I would highly recommend it; we visited on a Thursday night before one of the busiest weekends in Chicago and still managed to avoid large crowds and had a very enjoyable time. Finally if you are debating between Willis tower and the Skydeck I would strongly recommend the Skydeck 360 (smoother, simpler and still amazing views).
  • Simply incredible. The views are magnificent. Went after 5 on a weekday and didn't have any wait to get to the top, the only wait was for "The Ledge" (worth the wait if you want the best photo op). I would recommend taking the time to check out this tourist spot. PS. The elevator ride was not bad at all. Ears popped a little but considering it was about a minute to get to the top the ride was very smooth.
