The 606 is a rails-to-trails project that is redefining what it means to go to the park.Make The 606 a centerpiece of your Chicago vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Chicago online trip maker.
We’ve turned an unused rail line into a lush, green playground. This mix of an elevated trail and neighborhood parks takes you right where Chicago lives. In 2.7 miles, you’ll experience six local parks and the cultures of four distinct neighborhoods.
The 606 connects parks and people all along the way. An observatory, skate park, art installations and family education programs will mean new places to gather and room to roam. The railroad embankment that used to physically separate communities now draw them together.
Imagine block after block of uninterrupted trails. Kids are learning to ride their bikes here, commuters are finding a new shortcut to work, and neighbors are making new friends.
Join the party a decade in the making. C'mon up!

It gives a great view through some of the most beautiful streets in Chicago. It's a long ride, and has several stopping points. The plant life is lush and always green. To be fair however, some of the areas are closer to ghetto. But it's a great ride! Recommended 10/10!
I love cycling here! I usually come here with my friends for early morning bicycle rides. We exercise together and have great fun as well. This is also a great place for jogging as well.
