Attend a free concert, admire the centrally located fountain, and gaze at the giant LED screen at Fountain Square. The center of the city’s civic, social, and commercial life, the square features water jets spouting from the floor that kids can run through, restaurants and pubs, plenty of tables and chairs, and an ice rink in the winter,. The 13 m (43 ft) bronze fountain in the middle of the square displays four figures representing the four principal uses of water--steam, water-power, navigation, and fisheries--around one central figure. If you need refreshment, lap up spouts of fresh water--the piece was designed as a drinking fountain.
