#4 of 22 in Parks in Cincinnati
A stunning Art Deco greenhouse is the backdrop for exotic plants at Krohn Conservatory. Completed in 1933, the conservatory is home to more than 3,500 species from around the globe. Visit the Palm House to see the 6.1 m (20 ft) waterfall and goldfish stream, as well as many palm varieties. After checking out the miniature wonders of the bonsai collection, head to the desert garden to see aloes, agaves, and yuccas. The orchid display encompasses hundreds of orchids, including monstera deliciosa--the enormous fruit-salad plant. In the Tropical House, breath in the deep, earthy smell of damp, warm soil and the leafy foliage of banana trees, cycads, and vanilla vines. • I've been going to the Krohn Conservatory since I was a child. It was amazing then & is even better now. The Holiday display never disappoints. The color & wonder of the season is embellished in every way. I really like what they've done with the cactus room and the original wood pieces. It really adds to the feel. The bonsai room & orchid terrarium is luscious and amazing.
  • Always a wonderful experience- yet the past few times we have been, they have had the main room and bonsai room closed- no matter what season or time of year. It would be helpful if that info was readily available on their website..
