Theater · Concert / Show
Playhouse Square is a theater district in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It is the largest performing arts center in the US outside of New York City (only Lincoln Center is larger). Constructed in a span of 19 months in the early 1920s, the theaters were subsequently closed down, but were revived through a grassroots effort. Their renovation and reopening helped usher in a new era of downtown revitalization in Cleveland, and was called "one of the top ten successes in Cleveland history."

  • Great live theater, concerts and shows in beautifully restored vintage theaters. Unique to Cleveland with the variety usually offered. There are also wonderful restaurants within easy walking distance to the theaters. I love to go to Playhouse Square to see shows. We have great seats in the mezzanine on an aisle. The excitement around the performances are contagious. The theatres in CLE are better than some of the ones in NYC.
  • It was good to get back to the theater. Had Broadway series tickets for 11 years but moved and had to give them up. This is the fourth time we saw Phantom with the first featuring Sara Brighton and Michael Crawford whom I could understand their words, however, last night if I didn't know story and songs I would not have understood what was being sung. Still a nice at the theater.
