  • Nice park. The castle tower was very interesting.. Some in our group though the stairs were very difficult, but the rest thought the climb was very worth it!

  • This is a very beautiful park on the north end of the city. Much of the structures were built during the Great Depression by the Civilian Conservation Corps, but where needed they have been...

  • I grew up in Clinton. My family would have Breakfast Picnics at Eagle Point. My dad and sometimes his brother would cook breakfast. Always tasted better cooked outdoors😊! Also remember the Tower having a LARGE Flag pole flying what I believe was a Garrison Flag, the largest available (at least at the time)! It was a wonderful sight to see on a windy day. Now I look at pictures and No Flag, No Flagpole! Apparently my hometown doesn’t feel like it’s worth flying our American Flag. I guess that’s just one of the reasons I left Clinton. That was in the 50s and early 60s. Great memories of a time gone by.
  • I did not get to explore the park itself, though what I drove through was gorgeous. My agenda was to find the fenced in dog park. Their dog park is by far the best one I have been to. My dogs would agree. You can buy a year pass for only $35. Otherwise they offer day passes. It is an honor system in which they request $4 for one dog and an additional $1 for a second dog. What a deal! The place is not tax funded and only operates off the donations. I gave extra! The dog park was at one time a zoo..I saw 3 fenced areas, one with water. We are saving that for summer. One for older or less active dogs. There is supposedly an area for small dogs. We went to the big dog area. It was fully fenced and a huge space. There were enclosures reminding you it was once a zoo but it adds to the beauty of the place. The dogs loved it. There were paths to run through. Areas to explore and best of all, a pump for fresh water! Lots of trees for shade. Ample supplies of poop bags and garbage cans. Did I mention, best dog park ever?
