Brazosport Museum of Natural Science, Clute

Named one of the ten best museums in Texas by Frommer's Travel Guide, the Museum is home to the largest collection of shells on display in the South with shells from around the world. The Museum also features real life-sized fossilized dinosaur skeletons and other rarely exhibited fossils plus exhibits on wildlife, rocks & minerals and archaeology to round out the museum.

  • I have been here several times over the past several decades and it’s always interesting, never crowded. It’s manned by volunteers. Pretty decent place for a small local museum.  more »

  • We love this museum. Onsite parking, restrooms available, handicap accessible, and it is free to get in unless you want to make a donation. There is so much cool stuff to see in here. Lots of shells, animals, and dinos as well as cultural items and gems. Definitely worth a visit!
  • I love it, kids age, 1 and 2, are interested in dinousours, fish, and little small things. They have a play area, and are doing a certain play time, for all kids call them to verify the day and time. Works to meet other sahm
