ChesLen Preserve is the largest privately owned nature preserve open to the public in Chester County. Miles of marked hiking trails lead visitors through shady woodlands, flower-filled meadows, fields of corn and soybeans, and stream valleys.

Visitors can also explore Ollie Owl’s NaturePlayGround, where young explorers can climb logs, build stick tee-pees, hunt for bugs, explore small streams, and get a little dirty, tired, and inspired. Free play is encouraged and is a great way for kids to gain an appreciation for nature.

is owned and managed by non-profit conservation organization Natural Lands. Learn more at www.natlands.org.

  • There are many paths to walk. They vary from wooded to open fields; from level to hilly. Depending on when you go you might not see another human. A great opportunity to find peace.  more »

  • Wonderful for a walk through beautiful landscape. There is lots to explore for the kids. It also has a rope bridge kids love to cross. There is a small play area available that has a seesaw and other things for the kids. They can walk/explore along the creek bed as well. There is a bit of a hike downhill (uphill on the way back) so not so good for disabled people.
  • Really nice preserve, but there's very little shade, I would suggest wearing a LOT of sunscreen or going on a cloudy day. Definitely would not go here on a super sunny hot day.
