The Magnificent Cody Mural, painted by western realism Artist Edward T. Grigware (1889-1960), illustrates the early history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in vivid paintings that cover a 36-foot wide rotunda. Hallmarked as his "masterpiece," the mural took nearly two years to complete including a full year of historical research by the artist.

In addition to the mural, the museum will let you experience the day-to-day struggles of Mormon pioneers. They came in 1900 to build a 30-mile irrigation canal and to help establish and settle the Big Horn Basin of Wyoming. The exhibit displays artwork and sculptures by local artists along with photos and artifacts of the original settlers in the area.
