The Coeur d'Alene is a U.S. National Forest located in the Idaho panhandle and is one of three forests that are aggregated into the Idaho Panhandle National Forest (the other two are the Kaniksu and St. Joe National Forests). Coeur d'Alene National Forest is located in Shoshone, Kootenai, and Bonner counties in northern Idaho. It has a total area of 726,362 acres (1,135 sq mi or 2,940 kmĀ²).
The forest headquarters is located in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. There are local ranger district offices located in Coeur d'Alene and Silverton.

  • If in the area, this is a worthwhile location to visit. Lots of trees and scenery. Nice drive an even a fair amount of hiking trails. Wonderful way to spend a day with nature.  more »

  • Just passing through but you got to love a forest. Too many people everywhere all around that area. Trying to find a place to fish was nearly impossible.almost all parts of the shores are privately owned.there is no access for someone who just wants to go fishing from the Banks. If you want to fish here you'd better have a boat.
  • This place e is the most beautiful and peaceful place I've been! There is so much beauty! So much to do.. bike, walk, climb, hike, swim.. the list is endless! The camping is awesome, the sites are all sparatically laid out along the roads, logging is clearly marked, so much to do and see, the water is crisp and the air will mat h!
