We are a unique institution in being both home to the Thomas County Historical Society and the Kuska Collection. The historical society connection means that part of our mission is to tell the story of this region of the High Plains, from prehistoric times to the present. The Kuska Collection, an extensive and wide-ranging collection of dolls, glass, ceramics, clothing, paintings and much more assembled by Nellie Kuska, allows us to tell the story of collecting generally and of the unique aspects of different items in the collection specifically.

Two museums in one: an indoor collection of old household objects, uniforms, and historical displays. Nothing artistic or precious, much of it very familiar to old folks, but the collection preserves.... more »

I have yet to go through the museum, but given the reviews, I will definitely be visiting prior to my departure from Colby. A nice museum experience for 8 dollars? Sounds like I should make it happen. Also, this is a gym on Pokemon GO and that is how I came to know this place existed. Will be posting another review after I see what's inside!

This was such a fun place to visit. We were in town visiting family who pretty much live next door, and decided check it out to kill time. The kids (ages 13 down to 2) loved seeing all the cool antiques. Especially the toys and tea sets. But the most favorite part was walking through the little house, school house and church.
