Friends and neighbors inspired by their love for the park and concerned about the effects of city budget cuts founded Guardians of Palmer Park (GoPP) in January 2009. The main focus of the organization’s mission is to enhance, protect, defend and maintain the physical integrity, natural beauty and physical resources of Palmer Park for the enjoyment of future generations.Plan your Palmer Park visit and explore what else you can see and do in Colorado Springs using our Colorado Springs road trip app.

Lots of trails and hidden lookouts. Very confusing signage and web of trails from SE parking lot. Some are dead ends or overgrown narrow paths. GPS is not accurate BTW. There is a lot of sand aka...

Hilly with nice views of the city. When I used to live here I used to take my lunch to Palmer Park. An ideal break from the drag of yet another work day. The problem was I didn't want to leave...

One of the best large, open space parks in the Springs. Many hiking trails, horseback riding, a dog park and my favorite, just watching the sunset over the mountains from one of the many lookout parking lots. I've spent many an hour in this park just reading alone, talking to a friend or friends or just clearing my mind from that day's idiosyncrasies. Almost all the other patrons are respectful and kind/generous when needed too.

Largest city park in Colorado Springs with 27 miles of hiking/biking/horse trails. They also have the largest open space, off leash, dog park at the top of the mesa. With an active "friends of" that work hard to keep the park tidy makes this a pleasant getaway on the east side of town. They have put in new trail markers, like they have in all our local area open spaces, that makes it much easier to hike the trails in the park
