Columbus State University, Columbus

3.8
Columbus State University (CSU) offers challenging programs; thought-provoking and creative faculty collaborations; and a vibrant, globally connected campus — making it a first-choice option in higher education.

As part of the University System of Georgia, CSU is located in scenic Southwest Georgia and attracts future leaders from across the globe.

CSU includes nationally recognized departments and innovative international programs on both its traditional main campus and urban downtown campus in historic Columbus, along the banks of the Chattahoochee River.

It’s also the home of the world’s longest urban whitewater course, a zip line to Alabama and a plethora of local restaurants.

The university emphasizes excellence in teaching and research; lifelong learning; cultural enrichment; public-private partnerships and service to others.

The inclusive excellence-driven university enrolls approximately 7,000 undergraduate students and 1,500 graduate students in 46 undergraduate and 42 graduate degree paths.

The university’s downtown campus, RiverPark, features engaging exploration opportunities, from the university’s Coca-Cola Space Science Center to one of the fastest-growing music programs in the Southeast, the award-winning Schwob School of Music.

Because of its commitment to empower students, faculty, staff and the community to make global impacts, CSU has emerged as one of the nation’s first-choice universities.

  • Got accepted into Grad school here 4 times, but the Army wouldn't let me begin. Not CSU's fault though. Every visit was greeted with helpful staff and even helpful students. Seems to serve the area well. And unlike other areas (*cough* KState* cough*) the local population all seems to get along well with student/civilian/military worlds.
  • Education and life balance is something my daughter found in this school. The internship program is remarkable.
