Ohio History Connection, formerly The Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society and Ohio Historical Society, is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1885. Headquartered at the Ohio History Center in Columbus, Ohio, Ohio History Connection provides services to both preserve and share Ohio's history, including its prehistory, and manages over 50 museums and sites across the state. An early iteration of the organization was founded by Brigadier General Roeliff Brinkerhoff in 1875. Over its history, the organization changed its name twice, with the first occurring in 1954 when the name was shortened to Ohio Historical Society. In 2014, it was changed again to Ohio History Connection, in what members believed was a more modern and welcoming representation of the organization's image.

  • This museum is a must visit if you are in ohio. There is so many fun events throughout the whole year and the exhibits are so neat. Of course the best one is Conway the mastedon skeleton!  more »

  • Wonderful insight to Ohio's past and what life was like in the late 1800s . Plenty of history and cultural galleries to wander through at your own pace. The village is interesting also. It takes you back in time to a progressing era in our world. A great place for young or old to enjoy. The onsite cafe has plenty to choose from for eats. I would give yourself at least 4 to 5 hours to enjoy.
  • There are some nice displays here, but this was just average in comparison to other museums like this. The Ohio village was disappointing. Some buildings were closed and overall not as large as other living history villages. On an event day, I am sure that this is more interesting.
