Best $12.50 spent! What an incredible value for the experience. We went the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. When you arrive at the location you will park on either side of the gate off the road and wait for the people to come open the gate. In our case this was 7:27 PM. There is nothing to do but wait in your car so be aware of that. Once you get through the gate it is kind of a long, slow drive back to the parking area. The walk up to the cave is not that bad even if you have a 30 pound baby strapped to your back like I did. As you wait for the bats to come out of the cave there is a very interesting information session. There’s 10-12 million bats that come out over a 3 hour period. They fly low and you can see the columns for miles as they depart on their journeys of 500-600 miles. There are two hawks that feed on the bats as they exit the cave and put on a fantastic aerial feeding show for you! You can leave whenever you wish (the tour officially ends at dusk) and there are shirts and hats for sale as you leave. Overall a great experience I would highly recommend for the value. You won’t be disappointed.

This was one of the most amazing experiences ever! We arrived to see the bars emerging and stayed a while to see the second flight. It’s important to arrive on time and wait outside the gate for the guide. The bat experience is on private owned property and it’s a long way from the gate/entrance. It’s not exactly a tour, but rather an experience. The guide is knowledgeable and once you arrive at the cave entrance (up a slightly steep incline) you wait for the bats to emerge-and boy do they!! Well worth it!
