  • This is a very nice hiking tour from Sunset Beach. I recommend to go all the way because it is very rewarding at the end. Since most of the people go by car you will not meet many people on your hike. On your way you will have wonderful views to the beaches and cliffs. You will very likely see whales and, of course, a lot of sea lions. At Cape Arago you can climb down to the rocks. Not easy but not dangerous if you are careful.
  • Fantastic visit. We started with watching whales swimming just out from the main overlook. We then drove to the South trail to walk down too the tide pools. A ranger guided our walk through one surprise after another. It was hard to wait as she explained how to enjoy the search but it made the time much better. We saw many creatures and learned how to safely interact with the crabs, sea stars, anemone, sea urchins, etc. We stopped at the picnic area filled with flowers for lunch before we headed to the overlook to watch the seals and sea lions.
