  • Having grown up in the Bronx, I have wanted to visit this museum. It has limited visiting hours and so it took me a few years to get here. To see the architecture of a house built in the 1600s is...  more »
  • Very interesting of how things were done in 1863 to live. The curator is very very knowledgeable. They have different events throughout the summer, opening Memorial Day weekend.  more »
  • i really want to give this place 5 stars because i love tours of old builds and i take a lot of them. but base on the tour and the fact they don't allow picture (EVEN WITHOUT A FLASH) of the inside i have to give it 3 stars. the positives are that they have 11 building from the 1600's to the 1800's on the original foundations is totally AMAZING & RARE! that along i have to give 10 stars and is worth going to see. the young man that works in the archives/library was fantastic. he was very knowledgeable, a great help, polite and a pleasure to talk with. the rest of the staff was nice also. the tour itself was only of 3 rooms and since it was a weekday only the barn was open beside the main house. the other building were close and only open i weekends when they have more visitors. the tour mostly took place in the main room of the 1663 part of the house and we sat there for around 45 minutes on benches. which was half of the tour. tho the tour guide (Shelby) knew a ton of information but some was unnecessary. it was like sitting in a classroom. yes i love information but i want to see the property too. instead of just sitting in a room if they included some of the other builds in the tour and with all that information the tour guide had to share would of been made the experience that much more pleasurable and exciting. this way it would keep the tour moving and give their guess that much more to see. i fully agree that no pictures with a flash shouldn't be taken but without a flash should be allowed. don't get me wrong i am glad i went but the tour itself needs work. the tour since its slow would be boring for kids.
  • The Most Amazing Experience! Met The Librarian Jonathan Who Was Just So Knowledgeable & Couldn't Be More Helpful & Willing To Drop What He Was Working On, To Assist My Sister & Myself! He Truly Made Us Feel Welcomed. He Very Much Intrigued Me With The History & Working Of The Library & The Museum! So Looking Forward To Returning So I May Broaden My Horizons With This Rich History! TY
