Crater Lake National Park, Crater Lake National Park

Known for its deep blue color and clear waters, Crater Lake National Park formed in a collapsed volcano. The lake is more than a protected ecosystem, it is also a sacred place to the Klamath tribe, who researchers think may have witnessed the collapse of the volcano. You'll be able to see another legendary aspect of the lake as well. "Old Man of the Lake," once a tree, now a stump, has bobbed in the lake for centuries. Crater Lake National Park boasts hiking trails and lookout points all around its rim. • Crater Lake National Park is a must do! The visit we had not planted and we had to deviate quite from our route to get there. The road to it and the final visit to Crater Lake have become unforgettable. How beautiful can nature be.... This place is truly unique and nowhere else in the world will you be able to see something like that. During our visit the light was cloudy and the Blue sky could not reflect in the lake, which then reflected unreal beautiful blue. The visit was great. Her beauty enchanted so that I forgot that we had limited time and did not want to leave this place. Hope to be able to admire her again, under a blue sky.

  • A unique park, absolutely breathtaking view, clear water and amazing train down to the lake. You should reserve a room months ahead or prepare to set camp. Be aware of temperature drop - pretty warm during the day and very cold after sunset (summer time, August).
  • This is a magical and tranquil place. I have been in the summer and winter. Be sure to check fire status in the summer months and road closures in the winter. One of my favorite places
