This pretty park west of Augusta is best known for its equestrian facilities, Confederate museum and lakeside group camp. Horseback riders can explore 19 miles of trails and stay overnight in their own campground. Overnight guests can choose from lakeside cottages or a modern campground, while large groups can enjoy privacy in the park’s group camp or pioneer campground.

Stephens State Park features a Confederate museum with one of the finest collections of Civil War artifacts in Georgia. • Park is very nice, clean and attractive. Has units for groups alone with dock's. Park has some very nice little cottage homes sitting on the lake front. Horse stables if you are there to enjoy horseback riding alone with campsites for your travel trailer or such. It also has several travel trailer and RV site that have electric and water and on site dump station. Nice fishing lake on back of park, picnic areas to spend the day with family and friends. Paddle boats in front lake area. Overall very nice park away from the big city life very peaceful and quiet.
  • Spent 4 days in March in a cabin close to the stable. First the park is beautiful, well maintained and clean. Rest rooms were immaculate. The cabin was clean, comfortable and well stocked. The stalls were fully matted and very clean. Wheel barrows were plentiful but bring your own fork. The trails were varied and plentiful with easy footing. Trails were well marked however the map needs to be updated to match the actual trails. I’ll be back.
