Awesome tranquil park - great for nature watching. We saw so many birds including Osprey and lots of smaller birds. Also we saw Manatees swimming in the shallow water channel as well as possibly an Alligator swimming The ancient oyster shell heap was unique and interesting - not something I've ever seen before. But the information plaques raised more questions than they answered. The information was vague and contradictory. We didn't go into the information centre as the information on the outside was pretty poor. 3 dollars for parking. I would recommend going just for the tranquility and nature if nothing else. There are picnic tables - ideal for a meal stop.

Cool little spot to check out. Affordable at $3 a car load. Enjoyed mound A, the old sea shell dump. Not sure what happened to the dug out canoe. It was missing. Short river walk was nice. We visited on a quiet week day. No crowds.
