  • Amazing. We had so much fun. The owner of this place is dedicated. They label everything. The buildings are in amazing disrepair for authenticity, but are still functional and you are able to enter each one. You pay $6 and get an old tape recorder to do a self-guided walking tour of some of the oldest, neatest, and creepiest things you will ever see. We brought our four year-old, but because of all the broken glass, rusty nails, and sharp edges I wouldn't call this attraction "child-friendly". We kept our son right at our side the whole time and watched him carefully, but if I had more than one, or if he wasn't listening well, this place would spell trouble. I assume because of all the broken glass and sharp edges that is why there are warning signs to be careful in the "unsupervised areas". This place was amazing though. If you love the old west, anything creepy, or old stuff in general...do not leave Custer without doing this tour. Also, listen to the tape. It was very interesting and also added to the whole experience. Where does the owner even find tapes anymore!? Incredible. When we go back to Custer, we will be sure to check back in and see what new buildings might be there and to take another stroll. What a gem in Custer. Not for people who do not like really old stuff, history, or self-guided experienced. Also not for children who need to touch everything, as they might get cut or poked. Definitely for people with a sense of humor, love for history, and can appreciate authenticity. We loved it.
  • Great staff. The lady working the counter was sweet. It's pretty cool to go back in history and see some of the houses and things people had back in the day.
