There are four different sections of our museum tour - (1) Wooden Nickel Theater where you learn about the creator of 36 scenes, some have over 1100 woodcarvings, Dr. Niblack, who was an original animator of Disneyland, and demonstrates how a woodcarving is created, taking a block of wood and turning it into a work of art [over 10 hours of work compressed into just a few minutes], (2) the life-work of original animator of Disneyland, Dr. Niblack, 36 scenes, some life-size, which come to life at the push of a button, (3) woodcarving studio of Keith Morrill, a member of Caricature Carvers of America, and (4) museum gallery which offers over 70 woodcarvers creations for sale [ranging from under $10 to over $5000]. We also offer a seperate gift shop and snack shop. We invite your entire family to stop for an hour or more for a memorable part of your vacation in the Black Hills. Open daily from May 1st thru late October each year. Only two miles west of Custer, South Dakota.
