American Airlines Center, Dallas

4.3
#1 of 26 in Fun & Games in Dallas
Fun & Games · Sports Complex
Opened in 2001, American Airlines Center mixes architecture with technology for a modern, multipurpose arena. The center is home to the NBA's Dallas Mavericks and the NHL's Dallas Stars, and it also hosts large concerts and live entertainment events. The arena's high-tech, retractable seating allows its capacity to change from 18,532 seats for hockey games and 19,200 seats during basketball games to 21,000 for concerts. Take a guided tour of the arena to learn how the space is converted for different events and to see more of the building's impressive architecture. On the tour, you can visit the press box, a luxury suite, party rooms, and many other areas otherwise off limits to the public. • We have had a great convention here. The arena was very clean and neat. The staff was very helpful and professional. Everything went very smoothly and we all would be happy to come back here again. The surrounding area is filled with great shops and restaurants. Dallas is a fun and exciting city with a lot to offer.
  • Very nice facility. Clean and a good selection of vendors for food and drinks. However, the seats are incredibly tiny and there are far too few women's bathrooms. After a 20 minute intermission there were still women waiting in lines with nearly vacant men's rooms. Getting out of the parking lot also took a while but not too terrible. I would definitely come see a show here again.
