American Airlines Center, Dallas

4.4
Opened in 2001, American Airlines Center mixes architecture with technology for a modern, multipurpose arena. The center is home to the NBA's Dallas Mavericks and the NHL's Dallas Stars, and it also hosts large concerts and live entertainment events. The arena's high-tech, retractable seating allows its capacity to change from 18,532 seats for hockey games and 19,200 seats during basketball games to 21,000 for concerts. Take a guided tour of the arena to learn how the space is converted for different events and to see more of the building's impressive architecture. On the tour, you can visit the press box, a luxury suite, party rooms, and many other areas otherwise off limits to the public. • Gorgeous venue. We saw Hall & Oates / Train / Kandace Springs. Sound quality was excellent. Gigantic, but easy to get around. Viewing seems good from any seat. Wheelchair seating areas are really good too. Lots of choices for food & drink. Plenty of bathrooms. Friendly, helpful staff are everywhere. We parked in Lexus garage. It was simple to get to, and no traffic jam. The garage is just steps from the center. I highly recommend American Airlines Center.
  • My family and I recently moved here from Miami. The American Airlines Center is much better than the American Airlines Arena in Miami. It's cleaner, more concessions and bathrooms and roomier. This is a very nice Arena, and it's close to downtown!! Another positive is that I took the DART train and it lets you out right in front of the Arena.
