“Quite justifiably, it has come to be recognized as America’s finest opera house.”
- John Allison, Opera Magazine
The entrance to the Winspear Opera House features the Annette and Harold Simmons Signature Glass Facade, which ascends 60 feet creating a seamless visual appearance between the vibrant red glass panels of the McDermott Performance Hall and the surrounding Sammons Park. Radiating from the Winspear Opera House on all sides, the Sky Canopy provides shade to the Simmons Glass Facade over three acres of Sammons Park, defining new outdoor spaces for visitors to gather.
Winspear Opera House Reviews
seats here are generally pretty good in terms of the ability to hear the performance, in some seats it is harder to see the details of the stage but this is something you can experience anywhere. more »
Experience was amazing! the facility is beautiful! The lights ascending to the walls when the performance begins. And even on the fifth level you can still see everything clearly well. The staff is very polite there! Had a great time when I went. We went to see La Boheme ... I would recommend this place to anyone.
Wife is in a wheelchair and requires assistance with toilet use. Winspear handled everything perfectly allowing us to attend a spectacular performance without any hassle and without being a distraction for other patrons. Staff volunteers were exemplary. They have flexible seating to accommodate wheelchair bound customers and family restrooms allowing companion assistance for disabled people's toilet needs. Very thoughtful design and engineering for disabled attendees. 5 stars.
