  • Houmas House was the first plantation stop on our trip to the New Orleans area. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and wished we could have stayed longer. The grounds were so relaxing and the young man who helped us check in the facility was helpful and courteous. We were impressed with our room- very spacious, clean and had nice toiletries for us to use. We felt as though we had stepped back in time while we visited. The breakfast we experienced was absolutely decadent. The people of Louisiana sure know how to cook. Everything I ate was wonderful!
  • Beautiful place! The gardens are spectacular and the tour felt so intimate. Me and my husband had a wonderful time and loved how knowable and sweet our tour guide was. She was frech and just amazing we loved having her as our tour guide. Another positive is you have more then enough time to eat at the cafe before the tour starts and you have time to look at the gardens after the house tour. There are a bunch of beautiful birds on the property along with amazing water features and plants! I have to add the food at the cafe is amazing I wish I could of taken the honey pecan butter home with me!
  • The gardens are breathtakingly beautiful. In the spring the dragonflies in a multitude of colors are flying around. Gorgeous statues are throughout the grounds. The perfect place to take photos, get married, romance your honey, or propose. Fantastic restaurants with scrumptious food. Lovely cocktails in the hidden bar. The very highest recommendation!!!
  • This review is for the house and plantation tour only (not for the hotel). The gardens are beautifully landscaped, with numerous statues and fountains scattered throughout, as well as amazing centuries old oak trees. But the real treat in inside. Our tour guide Stephanie was fantastic. The house not only has an interesting history, it is also filled with fascinating antiques, art and collectibles. This is worth a detour.
  • I have been to a few historical plantation houses and this one was the best by far. I love the fact that it wasn't roped off. We actually got to walk into each room, take tons of pictures and ask questions. Our tour guide was very informative and fun. Thanks Bobby Sue
