This is a beautiful place off the beaten track but very well maintained. The park service employee gave us a tour and let us see that the mill is still somewhat operational. Been there multiple times but this was the first time anyone offered to let us see the moving parts. It has a playground, picnic area, restrooms and pavilions.

Worth the drive! The mill and grounds are beautifully kept. Our guide turned the machinery on for us to see how it works and is very knowledgeable about it’s history. Website states only 4 visitors at a time for 10 minutes. We were the only people there so she let us look as long as we wanted. We went at 10 AM. Sun was in perfect place for pictures. They have picnic tables, bbq grills, benches and vault toilets. Great place to have a family picnic. No swimming or wading allowed in the water. Thank you Missouri for preserving this historic place.
