Learning Tree Farm, Dayton

#8 of 9 in Parks in Dayton
Nature / Park · Hidden Gem · Farm
We are open to the public daily from 9:00 AM to dusk. Please understand that weekdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in spring and fall are our peak season for field trips; you are welcome to visit during these times and you will be able to jump in between our school visitors.

General Admission is $3.00 per person (children under 2 are free) or $10.00 per family/group (up to 10 people); please put in box at driveway circle sign. We highly recommend that groups of 10 or more call ahead so that we can help schedule your visit at a time that will assure your most pleasant experience. Members enjoy free admission any time; visit our website for more information.

You are welcome to go in the woods, barns, pastures and garden any time. However, when visiting outside of a scheduled class or field trip, please do not taste, pick or take home any of the fruits and vegetables growing in our educational garden. Some of the produce is reserved for sale to local grocery stores and restaurants. The bulk of it is essential to our educational programming, and we must have enough produce for every paying program participant. We thank you for your understanding!

It is Learning Tree Farm’s mission to provide hands on learning experiences in a traditional farm setting. However, sometimes groups just can’t get to the farm. What if the farm came to you?

From November through March (and limited summer dates) farm staff are available to create a program to meet your needs at your facility. We can align to academic standards and themes to add a new depth to your instruction or event. Some groups to enjoy these programs have been classrooms, church groups, live nativities, and festivals. Sheepherding is always a popular demonstration that will draw an audience to your event.

For more information please email with: your name, organization, your top dates for a visit, and an address. We look forward to serving the Miami Valley either here at the farm or at your site!

  • We went early, not a sole was there , not even the staff . We had a great time exploring and interacting with all the animals . Be careful with the pigs , they are pretty aggressive. I wore steel toe....  more »

  • We decided to check out the farm during a weekday morning. There were no events scheduled and it was a nice quiet time on the farm. The kids and adults loved seeing all the animals. The kids loved all the things to play on like the tractors and especially the see-saw. We decided to take one of the trails back and were pleasantly surprised by the tire swing! So much fun, things our kids don’t regularly get to do. When you enter the farm they ask for a donation, which is worth every penny! It is a working farm so there are rules that need to be followed to keep visitors and the animals safe. Can’t wait to return!
  • This farm was an awesome experience for my grandson and I. It was very well kept, animals are very well cared for and very friendly to the visitors. As long as you don’t chase animals and you put hand out to smell they will come to you . The goats and sheep ( including 2@2wks old loved being pet! Even the bathrooms were clean, even tho pita potty’s they’re fixed up to look like moonlit cabin fr outside! Definitely recommend
